The oldest church in the Upper Mátra, the St. Stephen King's Church – also known as the Three Village Church – was completed in 1942 based on the plans of architect Sándor Hevesy from Eger. The foundation stone was laid in 1938 on the Sztepán meadow between the three villages, on the side of Kút Hill, to ensure equal distance for all three settlements, as they could not agree on the construction site. Built in rustic style from local stone, the main altar painting of the church is the work of Mihály Kátai, an artist from Eger, depicting St. Stephen, the founder of the church. With its unique history and location, the church attracts visitors and plays a central role in the life of the local community.
